The Columbus Dispatch has a great story on the work The Ohio State University is doing to raise the graduation rate of African-American men.
Ohio State has implemented specialized classes, leadership institutes, guest lectures, and events specifically designed to help these students succeed and stay on the path to graduation.
Through a dedicated resource center that “challenges black men to excel in the classroom and in life,” the graduation rate rose 24 percentage points in the past five years.
Today, Ohio State’s African American men are finishing their coursework at a higher rate than the average at research schools and the Big Ten.
