AACC Magazine Profiles ACE Fellow Kenya Ayers
The 2015-16 Class of the ACE Fellows Program just concluded their Fellowship year at institutions across the country, becoming a part of the integral process of building institutional capacity in the higher education leadership ranks.
One of those Fellows, Kenya F. Ayers, dean for academic enrichment and engagement at Harper College (IL), was recently profiled in the American Association of Community College’s magazine, Community College Journal.
The piece delves into Ayer’s year as a Fellow, her relationship with program mentor Renu Khator, president of the University of Houston (UH) and chancellor of the UH System, and the importance of mentorship, a key hallmark of the program.

Ayers also wrote for a post for Higher Education Today earlier this year about a project she completed at Harper, a pioneering cross-sector collaboration to provide adult education and job placement services to the local community.
