Lumina Fund for Racial Justice and Equity Announces Grant Competition
Title: Lumina Fund for Racial Justice and Equity
Author: Lumina Foundation
Lumina Foundation recently partnered with Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors to offer a series of grants for higher education institutions working to advance equity on their campuses and in the broader community.
With a total of $1 million available to postsecondary institutions, four to five grants of up to $100,000 will be awarded to colleges and universities that have already started efforts to increase equity and can document the progress being made toward enacting their plan.
The remainder of the funds will consist of $25,000 grants to support institutions that propose significant steps to enhance campus climate, equity, and racial justice.
According to the grant announcement, proposals should be thoughtfully designed and might include actions like community and campus forums; faculty, staff, and/or student training and development programs; and other campus-wide programming efforts designed to encourage a constructive racial dialogue.
