Jobs for the Future recently released a new study on higher education policy can transform the postsecondary education system to better support the untapped workforce in the United States.
According to the report, a growing number of employers identify difficulty hiring highly qualified workers as their top challenge. Roughly 75 million Americans could meet these needs but lack the skills to do so.
The report offers policy recommendations for higher education institutions on how to enhance access and persistence for potential students, particularly those from underserved populations. The recommendations include improving students’ access to data and modifying pathways to completion.
