From 50-State Comparison: Transfer and Articulation Policies, Education Commission of the States.
Two new reports out this week look at college student transfer rates and articulation policies throughout the country.
According to the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center’s Snapshot Report on Postsecondary Student One-Year Mobility Rates, 9.4 percent of all students attended more than one institution during the 2014-15 academic year, a figure that has remained constant for the last three years. The mobility rate was highest for students who began the academic year at a two-year public institution.
The Education Commission of the States’ (ECS) new report reviews four transfer metrics in all 50 states, including transferable core of lower-division courses, statewide common course numbering, statewide guaranteed transfer of an associate degree and statewide reverse transfer.
One of the key takeaways, according to ECS, is that states continue to make transfer a priority.
